CULINARY STUDENT

The culinary student should always think how he/she will increase the advantage of his/her culinary degree outside the kitchen. The answer is internship or experience of working in a kitchen.




Culinary student should keep in mind that acquiring culinary degree does not guarantee a high profile job immediately. Be it chef’s job or restaurant manager’s position mere educational degree would not be sufficient. Each job requires education along with a dose of experience. Education with experience has no alternatives. While studying culinary arts, culinary student should keep himself engaged in some kind of kitchen job which adds to his experience. Prospective employers are always on the look out for culinary students who have formal education in culinary arts along with some kind of experience in kitchen.

Culinary students should ask their professors, chefs for references by which they can get in the profession. Each and every possible way of associations with people should be kept open so that any chance may not go amiss. Always also try and learn new recipes, ethnic cuisine so that it adds up to  your resume.

After graduating, the culinary student’s first job may be un-gratifying, unsatisfying but be patient, rewards will come later. In all choosing a career in culinary arts, culinary students have embarked upon a journey full of adventure.
